Introduction & Overview — SS 321 Sheets / AISI 321 Sheets

321 stainless steel sheet is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel designed to offer excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially after exposure to elevated temperatures. The addition of titanium prevents chromium carbide precipitation during welding or high-temperature service, making it ideal for heat-intensive applications. Titanium has a stronger affinity for carbon than chromium, which prevents the formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries.
